Mini horse clinic

There is a two-day clinic planned for the 28th and 29th of April, which will be given by Debbie Maestri-Mooney from the USA. This clinic will be held at Manege de Hofmeijer at Ambt Delden, The Netherlands.

Each participant in the clinic is allowed to bring along one guest for their farm.

Subjects

The following subjects will be discussed during these two days:

• Selecting the horse
• Price vs size and other factors
• Conformation
• Form to function
• Criteria for the show/breeding horse
• Feed and care
• Fit and condition
• Showing do’s and don’ts
• What the judge sees, and does not see
• Liberty
• Show-ring Preparation and Presentation:
  • Choose the right classes and the right shows
  • Show attire
  • Show equipment and supplies
  • Presenting your horse at “halter”
  • Showmanship, presenting horse as a “prop”

But we also would like you to tell us what would be important subjects for you to learn more about! Please inform us a.s.a.p. what subject you are interested in. We will discuss this with Debbie to also include that also in the clinic. We’re really looking forward to your feedback!

Fun and learning show

At the end of the clinic there will be a “fun and learning show” for all the participants of the clinic to enjoy. During this show Debbie will be judging and afterwards she will explain why she placed the horses in that order, with tips and advises.

Buffet

At Saturday evening, the 28th of April, there will be a buffet at Manege de Hofmeijer. A great way to meet other people and to get to know each other better and have an extra enjoyable evening!

Costs

Costs for participation in the clinic are:

• per member € 90,00
• per non-member € 125,00
• for a guest of a member € 45,00
• for a guest of a non-member € 90,00.

With all of these prices coffee/tea and a lunch are included. Soda´s and other drinks need to be paid by the participants individually.

In case you would like to participate in the buffet that will be held on the 28th of April, the costs for that will be € 35,- for each person. This price includes soda’s, beer and wine.

Stabling

Only 15 stalls are available at Manege de Hofmeijer. So for everybody wanting to bring horses to the clinic it is important to make reservations as soon as possible. The fee for a stall at De Hofmeijer will be € 10,- per stall per night.

A list will be made of accommodations near Ambt Delden where horses can be stalled when there are no more stalls available at Manege de Hofmeijer. This list with addresses for you to contact, as well as a list of hotels were you can make reservations, is published below and is also available through the club secretary.

Application

The final subscribing date is the 10th of April 2007. Subscription is definitive as soon as the payments are received in the ICAMH bank account.

The stalling of the horses as well as participation in the clinic is for everybody’s own risk, ICAMH can’t be held responsible for any damage.
