Summershow 2010

Thank you for your interest in the third edition of the sociable ICAMH Summershow.

This two-day show was judged this year by Mr Stephen Johnston (Hailstone Miniature Horses) from the United Kingdom.

Classes

The first day, Saturday 3rd July 2010, was reserved for the AMHR/tar show, the ICAMH-Youth show and the judging of the non-approved AMHA classes.

Sunday 4th July 2010, the approved AMHA classes in the AMHA Sanctioned Show took turn.

Buffet and/or bbq

In the evening of Friday 2nd July, the evening before the first show day, one could join in a Western buffet.

The Saturday evening between both show days saw an enjoyable get-together during a Barbecue.

Location

This indoor event took place at the grounds of the Triple Star Guest Ranch, Roßbrink 13 in Stavern, Germany, website: www.triplestar.eu.

Spectators

Just like at all other regular ICAMH shows, there was free entry for spectators at the Summershow.

Judge's comment

The show's judge, Mr Stephen Johnston comments:

"I was very pleased to be asked to judge this ICAMH show and had been looking forward to the trip for several months.

I know from my experience as a competitor that the ICAMH shows are always very professionally organised and run by very experienced and friendly people, so I expected that the show would run smoothly, as proved to be the case.

The weather for the two days was very hot and I thought the competitors and horses coped very well with the conditions. All the horses were extremely well presented and shown to a very high standard.
Quite a lot of the classes were very close and could easily have been the other way round.

I was pleased to see a great line up for the Supreme and although there were many nice horses on display, one particular horse stood out to me. This horse had shown really well in many classes over the two days, it was exceptionally well presented by the handler as well as having good conformation and movement qualities.

I appreciate how much time and effort goes into conditioning, preparing, training and showing these wonderful animals and as the judge, I try to respect that effort by giving each and every horse maximum attention.

I thoroughly enjoyed judging this show and would like to thank all those involved. In particular, all the competitors for allowing me to pass judgment on their horses and also to Claudia my excellent ring steward who kept me right for the whole show. Thank you to the whole ICAMH board for continuing to organise great shows with a friendly atmosphere."
