Summershow 2009
 For the weekend of 11th and 12th July 2009, the ICAMH had organized the second edition of their Summershow.
This time, an indoor location had been chosen (the Triple Star Guest Ranch, Stavern, Germany) and that proved itself wise. Even at the Friday before, everybody was pleased to have a roof over their heads with the enormous amount of heavy rain we had.
With the majority of the participants arriving that day, we enjoyed a lovely Westernbuffet on Friday night. A wonderful opportunity to catch up outside the show.
The judge for this show was Mr John E. Eberth (Arion Management, Inc.) from the USA. Afterwards, he gave the participants the opportunity to ask questions and he gave advice on showing and training.
Saturday
On Saturday, the AMHR classes were shown. Although the number of participants wasn't much larger than last year, everything looked allright.
The European Amateur Halter and European Bred classes were also judged on Saturday. Let's hope that especially the latter will be drawing more participants in the years to come.
When the show was over, the sun had come out, which lead to a lovely outdoor terrace atmosphere. In the evening, everybody joined the barbecue, that again was well catered for by Frieda and Daan (the owners of the venue).
The lottery price draw that evening was well attended, which enhanced the sale of lottery tickets.
 Sunday
On Sunday morning, the judging of the AMHA Approved classes commenced. Slowly but surely, also the spectators started coming in, who showed a lot of interest in all that was going on.
Kai Sven Herrmann and Wolfgang Zager had an excellent day for sure, as they won many first prizes. But "which last laughs, laughs best", and this time that was Herbert Klumpes, whose horse became this year's Supreme Champion.
As closure of the show, one of Daan and Frieda's daughters participated (for fun only) in the liberty class with their elderly Shetland pony - who showed well, too.
Next year
The atmosphere at the show was very relaxed and good. Reason for the ICAMH board to most likely use this location again for next year's Summershow. This, despite the limited parking space and some other issues, but all that is being looked into.
